16th August 2008

On a beach just south of Sydney, my sister, Kathryn, and 3 year old, Gemma, paddled in the shallows. Max who was looking forward to starting school in 2009, was engrossed with creating a new landscape out of sand. I was busy drawing the paddlers.

  1. What a lovely memory to have.

    • Hi Susan. My sister and her family lived in Sydney for over a year. When they returned to their home in Cranbourne, the children were very excited, eagerly exploring the rooms. They had no memory of their old home – it was new to them.

  2. I love the windblown sea tussled look of your drawing…you can smell the briny air!

    • Thank you, I am glad you liked the drawing. I think you would experience lots of roaring white rollers in your part of the world.

  3. These drawings are full of energy, Margaret. They capture the seaside’s eternal movement so well.

    • Thank you Gail. It was a great day to draw the restless sea.

  4. Interesting drawing!
