Redesdale Valley – A country garden

I visited Redesdale Valley garden during Melbourne Cup weekend on the first Sunday of November.

The garden was open as part of the inaugural Discover Redesdale Festival.

This large garden is situated on the banks of the Campaspe River where my aunt and I spent some time contemplating the river and admiring the riverside scenery.

The garden is idiosyncratic filled with whimsical delights constructed from collected and scavenged objects and materials. The garden is more about the inventiveness and creativity of its owners than it is about landscaping and the careful placement of plants.

My aunt absolutely loved it and we spent a happy afternoon there.

These photographs can only give a taste of the garden’s attractions.

I’d love to visit the Redesdale Sheepdog trials.

    • Hi Enivea, I had no idea Redesdale hosted sheep dog trials or that their fame had spread to your part of the world. Castlemaine recently hosted sheep dog trials at the local Camp Reserve.
